DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
OF THE
TODAY-WITH-JESUS MINISTRY

In order to provide a uniform and consistent basis for the work of the Today-With-Jesus Ministry organization, and to ensure a harmony in doctrine among the ministries and ministers, the following statement of doctrine shall be used:

THE BIBLE. That the Bible, as originally given, is the infallible Word of God, and that it is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.  The Bible is God’s complete revelation to man, and any spiritual revelation which adds to or is contrary to the revelation of the Bible is to be rejected according to II Timothy 3:16-17 which states “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

THE TRINITY.  GOD, THE FATHER.  That there is only one true God who eternally exists in three persons as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit according to Ephesians 4:4-6 which states “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

GOD, THE SON.  That Jesus Christ is the Son of God and only Savior of the world according to John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”, and Luke 1:30-33 “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”

We acknowledge the pre-incarnation of Jesus, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His vicarious death, His physical burial, and His bodily resurrection from the dead, and we believe that Jesus will return in a physical and visible form to reign on the earth for one thousand years according to Revelation 11:15-16 and 20:4-5.

GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT.  That the Holy Spirit, the third person of the divine trinity, convicts the unsaved of sin, empowers the believer to be a witness to the saving grace of Jesus according to Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY GIFTS TO THE CHURCH.   Being a full gospel church, the Global Sanctuary of God Church shall establish, encourage, and support the five-fold ministry offices given by Jesus as outlined in Effusions 4:11-16 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

FOUR BAPTISMS FOR THE CHRISTIAN.  The Today-With-Jesus Ministry believes in the four baptisms that all Christians should and must be baptized in if we are to fully follow our Lord, and these are:

1.  The Baptism of SalvationThe Bible teaches the basis truths concerning man's eternal soul: For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." [Romans 3:23];  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." [James 2:10];  For the wages of sin is death." [Romans 6:23]; For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." [John 3:16-17].  That all men are born in sin and must accept cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.  The necessity is both imperative and absolute - you must be born again. "Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." [John 3:3].

2.   The Baptism in Water   We believe that every Christian should follow the Lord in Water baptism.  Water baptism is an act of obedience that follows conversion to portray symbolically the washing away of our sins. Those who have accepted the Jesus as their Savior and Lord follow him in baptism.  We practice immersion for the Greek word "baptism" means to immerse, submerse and emerge. All new converts are encouraged to be baptized.

3.    The Baptism in the Holy Spirit – We believe that every Christian should seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues according to chapters 1, 2 and 19. We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from the Father that gives power to the believer. Power to live holy lives, power to be a witness and to witness for the Lord, power to pray, to understand scriptures, to minister, and to lay our lives down (Acts 9:17-20; John 16:14; Luke 24:24; Romans 8:26). The Holy Spirit baptism brings with it the gifts from God: the gift of healing, the gift of wisdom, the gift of faith, the gift of knowledge, the gift of miracle.

4.    The Baptism of LoveWe believe that every Christian should be baptized in the love of God. Our life and work cannot be as effective as they ought to be with love, love for God, love for self, and love for others.  In Deuteronomy 6:4-6 we read “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:”

When asked which is the great commandment in the law, He said “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Matthew 22:36-38.

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31

“He said unto him, What is written in the law? How readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.  And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.” Luke 10:26-28

And finally, we turn to the love chapter of the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."

THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST.   The Today-With-Jesus Ministry believes in the literal second coming of Jesus to this earth.   We believe that all Christians who have died will one day rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air. Christians who have not yet died will be rapture or caught up with them, to be with the Lord. Then Christians of all ages will live with God forever. The scriptural truth of the Lords soon return is "the blessed hope". (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13).
